CBT - Functions
Note: Sound (audio) functions are supported by WSS-581xx units (not WSS-588xx units); to support audio, system links require 10-wire (5-pair) UTP cable.
- Student Screen and Sound Broadcasting
- Teacher can trans-broadcast any student's screen and sound to one student, to a group of students, or to all students. Teacher may lock student's keyboard and mouse during the trans-broadcast process.
- Observe Screen, Listen in on Sound
- Teacher may observe any student's screen, and simultaneously hear that student's sound. The observe function may be confined to one student, to a group of students, or to all students. Teacher may cycle from student to student on demand, or set for automatic cycling, at a teacher-determined dwell time.
- Remote Control of Keyboard and Mouse
- This function allows keyboard and mouse control to be assigned to another station. The teacher can remote control a student station, a student can remote control the teacher station, or a student can control another student station.
- Intuitive Drag 'N' Drop Interface
- WinSchool Interactive Software Control, a Windows-based software program provides a simple drag-and-drop interface for complete graphical control. If you can use a mouse, you can use this easy to use program. No laborious learning curve, no complicated hardware control panel.
- One-touch Broadcasting
- Pure hardware switch lets the instructor broadcast both screen and sound with the touch of a button. No network OS system or network cards required. In addition, student screens still show teachers' broadcast even if they happen to reboot.
- Class Layout Map
- WinSchool can create and save an unlimited number of on-screen class layout maps (complete with student names) which look like the actual seating arrangement in your classroom. This natural mapping is of course much more intuitive to use than the grid-lock array certain competing products force on the user.
- Instruction/Demo
- If one student encounters a problem that will serve as a good example to others, the teacher can take control of that student PC and broadcast it to the other students, demonstrating how to solve the problem.
- Lecture Mode (Screen Blanking)
- For those times when the instructor wishes to make an alternative presentation using lecture, blackboard, or slides etc., he or she can help students concentrate by blanking out student screens.
- Student Teacher Toggle Function
- Allows the student to toggle between his or her screen and the teacher screen. Perfect for following complicated teaching sequences.
- On-line Dialog
- Allows the teacher to create private conversation groups with one or more students.
- Electronic Hand (Help Call)
- Students can call for teacher attention with the press of a key. The teacher hears a beep and sees a special mark on the requesting students' icon. A fast and effective way to call for attention.
- On-Screen Annotator (Electronic Whiteboard function)
- The WinMark on-screen marker allows the teacher to mark up, write notes, or highlight any part of the teacher's screen. The teacher has the option of using up to 12 different cursor designs for this function. The teacher can also capture zoomable screen selections to the built-in whiteboard for editing and can highlight and enlarge any portion of the screen for Broadcast to the students.
- Teacher-Student Chat
- The teacher and students can use headsets with built-in microphones and volume control for two-way communication. This enables the teacher to instruct, correct, and encourage students without leaving the teachers station.
- Video Player
- Built-in Video Player function. Teacher may send Video files (MPEG or VCD) to students. Teacher may make full control of student video players, or students may play their own video files from the system. Students may play, forward, rewind, and bookmark sections of video.
